Ipsos (Ypsos) or "The golden mile", a name given to it because of the length of its beach which is exactly one mile and the golden sand that covers it.
It is located at the foot of Mount Pantokratoras, 14 km north of Corfu town and borders south with Dassia, east with the New Settlement of Agios Markos and north with Pyrgi.
A road separates the blue coast with palm trees on the one hand and the dozens of Corfu hotels, rooms to let, bars, restaurants, taverns and various tourist shops on the other.
Ipsos has been known since ancient times for its nightlife and entertainment.
A pole of attraction for tourists from all over the world, and many of them members of the international jet set, gather every summer in Ipsos for dancing and spree.
Beautiful organized beach, paved half with pebbles and the other half with sand, suitable for people who love water sports as well as nightlife.
The beach is divided in two by a beautiful harbor, moored by the fishing boats of the inhabitants, who supply fresh fish daily to taverns and restaurants. At the end of the beach on the south side a small marina covers the needs of tourist yachts and tourist boats that organize daily trips to nearby beaches.
Ipsos offers to the visitor all the amenities for quality holidays but also an amazing view to the mountains of Epirus, the mountain ranges of Albania and the Corfu Town.
Awarded for many years with a Blue Flag, it will give its visitor unforgettable experiences in the clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea.
Diving, skiing, parachuting, jet skiing but also scholarly water games for adults and children, will surely not let anyone get hurt.
And then, relaxed from the game and the hot sun, all you have to do is choose a traditional tavern or a modern restaurant from the dozens you will find opposite the beach, to try the delicious traditional local specialties or flavors from around the world.
After a good lunch, you will definitely need two hours of rest and a summer nap ("souroupi" as the people of Corfu call it) . At night a frantic party awaits you at the dozens of bars and clubs on the beach. Against the background of the Corfu moon coloring the sea of Ipsos with silver, you will rock to the rhythms of the music that you will choose.

Under the moon of Corfu that paints with silver color the sea of Ipsos, you will dance to the rhythms of the music that you will choose.
At the beginning of the beach next to the comfortable marina, where the tourist boats moor, is the church of Agia Irini in the square of which on July 26 there is a big festival with live traditional music and dances by local bands.
In the same square about the end of August and the beginning of September is organized by the local fishing association “the Sardine Festival” with traditional music and dance.
Certainly, Ipsos is not for those who want a quiet and romantic vacation.
For the romantics, at a distance of 600 meters from the beach, is the old settlement of Agios Markos, where the Corfu Secret Hotel is located. There is no way not to visit the old settlement of Agios Markos during your vacation even as a different experience.
