It is a historic task for the author of this article to write about the place where his ancestors were born and raised.

Agios Markos, a historic village of Corfu whose very few people know its history and the secrets it hides in its green environment.
It consists of two settlements. The old and the most beautiful and the new. The old settlement is of special natural beauty and is a "traditional settlement" with protection from the Greek Ministry of Environment.
